If you are gearing up to take a road trip for the holidays, it is a good idea to keep in mind that there is more that goes into getting ready than just packing your luggage. Taking just a little bit of extra time to do a few things can make all the difference in the world and make your road trip all the more enjoyable. Before you leave, try doing these things in preparation:
- Plan out your route and go over it a few times so that you are familiar with it
- Plan out an alternate route, just in case something unforeseen happens and you have to take a detour
- Print out the driving directions just in case your cell phone service is spotty and your navigation app doesn't work
- A small tool kit to get you out of a bind
- Jumper cables
- Tire chains (if you are heading through an area that is prone to winter weather)
