We subject our cars, specifically our car interiors, to a lot. We consume food and beverages inside of them, throw our bags around, and let our dirty, snotty, rambunctious kids clamber around in the back. A recent FordSocial text looks at how engineers zero in on fabric that resists scratches and stains.
"Speaking of stains, who knew the long-lasting impact the dyes from denim can have on automotive seat fabrics? These engineers do. In a dye transfer test, these folks are testing the long-term effects that various styles, colors and qualities of denim have when rubbed against seat fabric." Ford is leaving no stone, or stonewash, as it were, unturned.
Sharp keys and pointy pens are no match for the fabric developed for your #Ford. https://t.co/pkyNmtvahU pic.twitter.com/Nwuvj1IDmd
